AMALGUM represents the core values of the Amalgum collective. Manufactured as a free product to be given away at exhibitions and events, it is designed to encourage as broad as possible an engagement with the principles of collaborative and participatory artistic practice. Each stick of chewing gum contains instructions directing the receiver to deposit their used gum, potentially creatively, and document the results – whether this is through photography, video, drawing, text or any other means. This documentation is then shared, resulting in an ever expanding collaborative artwork.
